Dear colleagues
As valued members of the scientific staff at D-GESS, we invite you to participate in the “wiegETHs” or “howsETHgoing” survey. Conducted by an external institute on behalf of VSETH and AVETH, this survey aims to address working conditions at ETH Zurich.
We often hear about individual challenges, whether they are caused by unclear regulations or unfair treatment, all in a dynamic environment and pressure-filled environment. However, the department is fractured and many professorships are isolated. It is difficult even for us to get a good picture and to argue for improvements, since many concerns can be dismissed as individual anecdotes. Answering this survey will help the ASST to better assess which specific aspects of D-GESS need improvement.
Should there be such signs, every additional answer to the survey will strengthen our stance, better inform what issues we need to prioritise, and allow us to push for more decisive measures.
How to access your personal link: Search your mailbox for “gfs-zürich” to find the email containing your unique survey link.
Lost your email? No worries! A reminder link will be sent to everyone tomorrow.
For more information on the survey, please view the official page: https://vseth.ethz.ch/politics/wiegeths-howsethgoing/
Do you need help or just want to talk?
Should you struggle with personal or professional issues, remember that ETH provides counseling services free of charge: https://www.pbs.uzh.ch/en.html. Please don’t hesitate to use them. Your privacy will be respected.
If you are unsure what to do or who to contact, the GESS Help!Point serves as a very informal and confidential first contact point.
Finally, the ASST is always open to listen to your concerns. You can simply write us an email if you’d like to talk about challenges, vent, or just to have a casual chat.
Warm regards,
Your Association for Scientific Staff at the GESS Department
